AWP Kickoff and Book Launch with Sarah Viren & Rita Ciresi

We are excited to kick-off the 2018 AWP (Associated Writers & Writing Programs Conference) with readings by Tampa-related writers, Sarah Viren and Rita Ciresi.

Sarah Viren is the author of the essay collection Mine, winner of the River Teeth Literary Nonfiction Book Prize, and translator of the novella Córdoba Skies, by the Argentine writer Federico Falco. Her writing has appeared in GuernicaTexas Monthly, the Oxford American, and other magazines. More about her work at sarahviren.com.  

Ciresi is author of the novels Bring Back My Body to Me, Pink Slip, Blue Italian, and Remind Me Again Why I Married You, and the story collections, Second Wife, Sometimes I Dream in Italian, and Mother Rocket.  She is professor of English at the University of South Florida, a faculty mentor for the Bay Path University MFA program in creative nonfiction, and fiction editor of 2 Bridges Review. 

At our off-site Pop-up during AWP Ciresi will be reading from her newest collection of stories, which recently won the Florida Review Jeanne Leiby Chapbook Contest and will be published by Burrow Press early 2018.  Ciresi is also the recipient of the Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction, the Barnes and Noble Discover New Writers Series, the Pirate's Alley Faulkner Prize for the Novel. Rita
